just a quick question, i want to replace the doors in our house to the oak doors in wickes etc.
Ive been quoted £45.00 per door door furniture etc. I think that sounds pretty good, the guy reckons he could get two done a day.

That seems a touch on the expensive side to me. £30 to £35 a door is more reasonable.

Also, 2 a day! What's he planning to do for the other 4 or 5 hours?

Is that to hang ordinary size doors? Only 2 a day seems awfully slow progress to me even if he is working on his own.

Only two in a day? Four hours per door? Bonkers.

I think the salient point here is he is being conservative.

I have fitted doors in an hour and a half, but I've had doors take me six hours as the entire opening is a novelty shape! I am an amateur but I would guess he is looking at worst case scenario.

He could MAKE a frigging door in four hours...!

(unless it's a novelty teddy bear-shape of course)
