Thinking of getting a coupe 55 plate 330 petrol with circa 30k on the clock for my weekend pleasure! As I haven't yet driven one, does anyone own one of these cars? I'd be interested to hear your opinions...

Nice cruiser, with a bit of poke when required. Needs to be sensible money.

the one i have seen is £9,995 with bluetooth, xenons, beige leather, cd changer, arm rest, metallic grey/gunmetal, cruise and has had 2 owners from new. It has a full BMW service history. Inspection 1 service done recently too..

Nice colour combo, no nav? Auto? Its a nice looking car. E90 series have a far better drivetrain although uglier maybe?

Be a nicer car at £8750 though....

I've heard the nav are not great so not fussed as I have a Tom Tom which are leagues better. Yes its an auto.

The dealer said they just dropped the price so I really doubt it they'll take anything less...

hmmm have you bought from them before? They sound ok over the phone and are not pushy which I like.

I think around the 10k is a sensible amount for me to fork out. I have resisted a mk v gti and mk v r32! S3 would leave me out of pocket!

They are well known for heavy pricing, just look around before jumping in. Its a nice car, but not 10k worth, all imho of course.

Don't be silly.
Very nearly bought one before child three came. Regretted it.

The only E46 I'd be looking at for weekend driving would be an M3. 330s are lovely to drive and quick, but they are not 'fast' although this is relative and subjective. At least i am of the opinion they are not weekend fast. If I didn't use mine everyday it would have an M badge on it without a shadow of a doubt, commuting put paid to that however.

I think the 330 would be quick enough for me though wink

out of interest whats the standard sound system like without the HK upgrade? As I am struggling to find any 05 plate with under 40k miles and is under 10k which has this.

If it's anything like the standard business system in my old 2001 E46 then bad. Really bad. Like the Bush/Matsui radio your gran has on the top of the fridge. Budget for an upgrade if you are in any way interested in music sound quality. Just my opinion though, let see if anyone backs me up..

I totally agree - surely a 330Ci is not really special enough for weekend fun? I don't know your circumstances or requirements, but if it was me, I would be looking at an Elise?
