Ok this is a bit random but.....
I have been offered a 2008 C200K Saloon in Obsidian with Elegance (i think), the larger wheels (allegedly), leather, 5spd auto, chrome mirror pack(?) and the best bit its 20K on the miles and £16k for a private sale.
Apart from an old W123 I haven't been a Merc officianado and as yet havent seen the car in the flesh. It belongs to the old bloke at work who sits beside me, by the sounds of it hes really looked after it for the last 3 yrs and at £16k I am imagining its close to trade in value! He is close to reirement and doesnt need a car now (gonna make do with his missus's and I think from memory this was close to £30k with the spec he has on it.
So for when I see the car anything to look out for in particular? I can see the dash in the PH classified ads and it looks kinda bland from my eye but maybe well laid out and the switchgear is meant to be slick. Is it really a baby benz and as such come with all the build quality and the satisfying "thunk" of good materials?
Strangely since he mentioned selling it today I have become quite enamoured with them and have a real hankering to have it off him and run it for a year or so!!
Let us know what you think, my thanks in advance for your MB knowledge!!!!

£16k is far too expensive, you could pick up a similar car for less from a main dealer with the bonus of a warranty on it.
ETA - A quick auto trader check shows that Mercedes Brooklands have a C200k, 2008, 13k miles, leather, parktronic, auto, up for £15,995 and thats with a warranty and before you start negotiating on windscreen price.
