Hi all,

My Merc CLK 320 sport is about to fail MOT tomorrow.
144k, a little smokey and every panel has rust on.

The things I think it will fail on are

1. cracked windscreen from right to left - maybe just under line of vision though.
2. Brake light bulb out - unable to get the bloody boot open to change it.
3. Brakes seem very jerky.

Plus possibility of brake pipes and fuel pipes needing work.

Now the car I imagine isn't worth 1k with a full MOT so what the hell am I meant to do with it?
Scrap it?
Sell it on here as MOT failure?
Take the nice bits off and sell them? AMG alloys with new tyres, leather interior etc.
I'm not mechanically minded so taking anything major off would be a major hassle.

Blimey I had no idea these were worth so little. I'd try and out it as an MOT failure if I were you and if it doesn't sell, scrap it.

If you can't get the boot open, i think it'll fail on that too.
I don't think the boot not opening is itself a fail, but the tester can refuse to test the car if he wants.

They managed to open the boot smile
Advisory on...
Windscreen cracked - not in line of vision
Slight engine oil leak
Corroded brake pipes

Who ever buys it will get the full truth, I have nothing to hide and at the price it goes for they will be under no doubt it will not be a pristine example! smile

Mods -
Can i have the title changed to something else as it didn't fail as expected!

Something like 'just passed' would be appreciated smile

Well there is no real point to this thread but I don't want it deleted as people will assume that I'm trying to hide something.

Thanks.

Glad it passed.

Think you did get lucky with the screen as i understand it, any crack in the windscreen over 40mm regardless of its position (A zone/B zone) is a failure.

MOT bods correct me if im wrong!
