Mercedes SL500 2002 onwards, thinking about getting one, any tips on what to look out for, what tends to go wrong?

Well worth having a look in the Mercedes forum on PH, plenty of knowledgeable chaps in there.
My housemate asked similar questions about a year back when he bought his SL500.

Good idea Luke, how are you getting on with the MX5. i got rid of mine. We need to have a catch up at some stage

Raz, I didn't realise the name change!
Yeah good mate, absolutely loving it, but have started on the slippery slope of modifying it now.
Have a look at my housemate's profile if you have a dig through his previous posts, you'll find the answers to your questions (he has an '04 SL500).
Yeah, will have to catch up. Maybe at the Britcar?!
