Best places to watch?

Last year was my first LM and I caught the bug, this year (as a result of me going on about how good it is) 3 newbies are coming with me and I want to make sure they are equally blown away.

Last year I watched the start just past the Dunlop Bridge, then migrated to near the last corner for a while. At night I managed to get behind the Armco between Mulsanne and Indianapolis, then on the Sunday I watched the finish from right opposite the podium.

Can I do better than that without grandstand tickets?

If it helps, we are staying at Le Bounty and can be dropped off pretty much anywhere

You've got 24hrs of racing plus 10hrs of practice/qualifying so there's plenty of time to wander about and view from all zones.

I think you've sussed the good places for the start and finish anyway.

The roof of the pit garages at the Kart Circuit is legal and quite a nice vantage point at the Porsche Curves. Otherwise there is 'black ops' whereby you can go practically anywhere!

Arnage at night is a big must

Plus of course once it gets to the night, you don't actually need grandstand tickets to get into the grandstand at the start/finish straight either (if you go there fairly late) so that can be a good option too.

Really? Is that legit or is it a case that there's no one about to check your ticket?

It's not legit but as the tribunes are pretty empty late at night/early morning, the marshals if they are there will usually let you in. You'll be turfed out in the morning as ticket holders return!

Just buy a grandstand ticket this late epic baryons can be had, just picked up two tickets for £70 quid eBay, that is pretty cheap and will be epic if it rains!
