Pad question..

G'day gents,

Its not an M car but as the M series is more performance oriented I thought you guys might know...

A v good mate of mine has just picked up a lovely 325i sport touring.

He's a "keen" driver to say the least and is looking for some info on pads..

Question is, whether he should stick with BMW pads and discs or go with performance options such as EBC or Ferodo?

Anyone know anything?

I asked a similar question here recently and went with the majority advice to stick with manufacturer ones. Unless he's going to be involved with a lot of track days, the 'sports' pads won't really make any difference to the performance as they generally only perform better when put under quite a bit of pressure.

IIRC, a lot of people were saying that the sport/racing pads have next to no bite in them until they are properly warmed up, so if it's a daily driver into town or something, probably not worth it!
