Hi all!!

Not sure if this is in the right place, so please move if so.

Just used my mastercard credit card to pay for my vehicle tracker subscription, and whilst giving the chap on the other end of the phone all the details, when it came to the usual 'last three digits' etc etc, he didnt ask for them.

Upon questioning him about this he said "no, we dont need that to process payment sir". confused

I have never, ever, had this before with a phone payment, and so would like to know if anyone else had?

Cheers!

Not necessarily needed for some types of MO payment.

I didn't realise there was a subscription cost for trackers.

How does the subscription cost compsre with the insurance discounts?

Many moons ago I used to work in online sales. We took the house number, postcode and CVV (3 digits) which would be put through the terminal. We would then be told if everything matched. If it didn't we would normally cancel the sale and go back to the client but did have the option of authorising it anyway. That would be at our own risk if anything went wrong.

American Express has no inbuilt security anyway (well it didn't at the time) and so we used to do full blown Experian checks on Amex customers before trading with them.

We sold top end electronics when they were actually worth something (2001-2005) so we're talking thousands on a single transaction.
