Problems with the tickover

[S6 ROR]

Hi all, I have been experiencing a few issues with the tickover of late.
The car is running fine whilst moving, but then as soon as you slow for Trafiic lights/crossings/roadworks/etc etc and the car comes to a standstill, the revs sometimes drop and it seems to be only running on 6 or 7 cylinders. Runs very rough and if you give it some revs, it really sounds st and the whole car shakes. then after a few seconds, it reverts back to normal and ticks over fine. Dosen`t always do it everytime, but seems worse when the engine is really hot.
It has just had a 12K service which included a new set of plug leads, and so think it will be going back in.
Anyone else experienced similar issues?

Had similar probs,mine turned out to be a loose spark plug after a 24000 mile service !!! And some rather naff new leads,weren't very good when hot. Changed to magincor within a couple of days

Stepper motor can play up and cleaning it should cure it. Lots of information on here and other sites how to do that.

Well, just been out and took the stepper out and give it a clean up with some petrol and a rag. By the looks of it, i don`t think it had been out since the car was new Just been out for a blast, and guess what. It seems to be running like a dream again, but keeping fingers and everything crossed, as only went for a short spin. Will give it a longer drive tomorrow.

I am alright thanks,doesnt seem so long ago when we spoke at the Growl man time really flies.

Now got a permanent contract at work so I am on the lookout for a new toy,will have to be good though to compare to the GREEN MEANIE.
