Out and about earlier today and I must have seen at least 6 different Ferraris (all red too!), absolutely stunning 355's and 2 360's.... but I was the only one leaving tornadoes in the tunnels... hehe
( i wish i recorded quite literally the loudest bang thats ever rushed out the pipes in a tunnel in my experience... spectacular!!! )

I live near to brands hatch and have to pass it every morning on the way to work. There is a ferrari dealership on brands hatch and every morning when I pass they are getting the cars out or showing them off.
I often get to come up behind a ferrari driven by a prospective buyer. I make it a point to either tailgate or overtake them.
Now thats fun.

My neighbour accross the road has a 360, I laugh everytime he goes out in it as it sounds so pathetic and I just cannot help smiling at the smoke only coming out of two exhaust pipes and not all four... (two of them are false)
, and my Cerb was Fu
king loud!! Sod's law ain't it, I rarely spotted other TVR in my Cerb and now I'm in the 360, I've seen untold Tuscan's and Cerbera's around the place.
sportie said:They're not false - they open at higher revs. Same with BMW 330's etc - spot the flap. - close half to increase torque and reduce noise.

Not many Ferrari buyers get pulled over to TVr i reckon although many have owned TVR before. Cerbera is a rocketship I give you and the interior design is far more funky and individual...however....doubt you'll see many going back from Ferrari to TVR....in my personal experience Ferrari is yes more expensive to buy but a damn sight cheaper to run, service, and mor reliable......when I had the Cerb the RAC used to sen me Xmas cards....
I think if i had a change in financial circumstances then yes TVR fits the bill as in the average price group 25-40k...nothing gives you as much bang or fizz for your buck....but the Ferrari although slower than a cerb is a different package....very solid, fantastic control under braking and thru the corners with an unfettled cerb there is no contest...the Ferrari handling is amazing ...
Still miss the striahgt line grunt of the cerb though ...nothing has ever come close....except a 550, but Cerb makes you feel like you are back in the womb
As for noise - you should hear a decatted tubid 355 on full chat.....pure F1

My average service so far £600-700 (and i have done over 18k miles in the 355
6000 mile services and no other problems?
Hmmm... I may have to go a bit poncey for my next car
I'd always assumed that a 355 was only useful as a weekend toy for low miles. I'm guessing using one as a daily driver will kill any chances of resale though?
Probably - but hey - who cares - you dont buy a car and worry about selling it do you ?? Enjoy it....
I have spent other monies on upgrades and different special bits and one new clutch but pretty much so far that is all
oh and 2 sensors which were cheap
I give you parts a more expensive on average but as an example clutch in the 355 cost me £700
Clutch in the 4.5 cost me £1150 from memory
Ouch.....
And i love having a convertible again too....

there is no comparing the TVR sound against the ferrari sound. They are both fantastic but in totally different ways. The TVR is a roar that turns heads and gives you a tingle down your spine. Its aggressive.
The sound of a fezza giving it the johnny large is just like listening to music. A really good piece of music. Ali's fezza around Brunters was just the most fantastic piece of vid clip I have - even next to my "best of transvision vamp" collection.
