TVR to Escort RS Cosworth

I currently own a supercharged 5liter TVR Griffith and have had it now for nearly 8yrs. I came very close to buying a cossie before the TVR, but now i'm seriously looking at buying one. I don't want to waste seller's time as i would like to see if it's all the car i think it is and that i could be suitably impressed with it, so if anyone has a cossie in the south (i live between Salisbury and Southampton) i would be very gratefull if i could have a look. I cannot help on the Cossie front but I have just had a look at your profile to get some more info on your SC500 Griff. It sounds epic. Got any pics of it?

Dont bother mate ive been there and theres no comparison.
Driving a 4x4 cosworth hard is no fun at all,i would drive one and see before you do anything.

I went from a Cosworth 4x4 to TVR, and as good as the Cosworth was it is no comparison to a TVR. the Cosworth was an all rounder with everything but the TVR just gives you the something special feeling that the Cosworth did not give me.
Keeping both would have been great.

Having owned a Griff and had plenty of use of my parents' old Escort Cosworth, I'd echo the sentiments above. As lovely as Cossies are, there are much better ways to scratch the hot hatch itch.

Stecozz is right. I ditched my brand new Impreza WRX STI after nine months because it was so boring to drive. All the drama and excitement is on the outside of the car. Big wings, nice alloys, flared arches etc etc are great for impressing passers by, but inside it's a sea of hard, black plastic. Even the exhaust note is a let down inside the car unless you 'chav your exhaust to the max'. You have been warned.

I had a 330bhp Sapphire Cosworth 2wd a few years prior to Griff ownership. No comparison, and I can only begin to imagine what your SC500 Griff is like so I think you'll regret it IMHO.

I have owned a couple of Cosworths in the past, from my experience the only really exciting cossies to drive are ones that have major engine upgrade & enhancement work. I test drove a 550 BHP Escort Cossie which seriously shifted, nicely scared me & left me with the usual urge to spend similar money (£1000's) on my cossie at the time, bottom line was I couldnt afford to do so, lost interest & sold it on etc.

Only after owning a TVR Griff did I see the light & felt the force

HAD A 2 WHEEL DRIVE COSSIE NICE CAR but performance and fun no were near MY SC 500 Griff
I looking at buying a Mk 1 Lotus Cortina would consider a RS 500 Cossie but i would not even consider comparing to Griff driving, i,d be driving these totally differently with totally different expoectations.
