I've been been contemplating getting a half decent watch for a while now, so having recently been browsing this forum it would seem that Seiko are pretty highly regarded.
At the moment I have a cheap Casio that I mainly wear for work, this is it:
.
Anyway, eventually (40th birthday
) I would really like a Traser watch, like this:

In the meantime I'm seriously considering getting this:
:
It's the Seiko 5 Sports Automatic SNZG41K1. It would be the first automatic watch I've owned, is there anything I need to know about at all? Are there any benefits/advantages over a quartz watch?
I've found it available for £124 from citywatches.
Thanks for your help and patience

It's too late! You're done for! Watches will prove an addiction, and Seiko 5's even more so. Seiko 5's are held in pretty high regard, mostly for the fact that they are honest, un-pretentious, easy-to-live-with watches and at prices that are hard to keep away from.
I have a similar watch, bought when I realised that I didn't own a black watch.
Benefits over a quartz watch? Hell, yeah. They stop when you don't wear them. Mostly though, they have much more coolth than a quartz watch because they are mechanical devices that keep perfectly adequate time. Not as accurate as quartz, but accurate enough that unless you are launching rockets or controlling an airline's flight schedule you are unlikely to notice their lack of absolute accuracy.
Enjoy the watch.
RE: Controlling an airlines flight schedule.
I use the bezel on my Seiko Monster to record when an aircraft stops at ramp, so I know when boarding has to be complete and the door shut.
OP you now have no reason not to buy one. Everyone on here uses Creation watches if you want more ideas.

If you like the Traser, then you might want to look at http://www.nitewatches.co.uk/shop/
Bit more money, but they do look rather nice.

You're not going to go wrong with any '5', just pick one that you like the look of and away you go.
The 5 part refers to water resistance, day display, date display, automatic and shock resistance so any one that you decide on will share the same qualities, infact they'll probably all share the same internal movement so apart from style there'll be no advantage choosing one over another.
As has already been said, creation are trusted sources and I know others have used citywatches as well, and this really is the start of a slippery slope...

I've seen the same watch on Creation for £94, however, wouldn't I be subject to import tax or something?
You can be, yes.I think you would be unlucky to pay it though, I've ordered from there twice and not paid any import duties, many others on here have ordered from there and not paid anything as well.
