Hi, I'm having some electrical issues that may stop me going to TAG11 in my Chim frown

It's looking highly likely I will need to replace the fuse/relay board in the passenger footwell.

Can anyone here point me in the right direction for a replacement?

I have seen one at Racing Green but its £240.00 yikes and I need it today.

I have heard rumour the Chimaera fuse board is off a Ford Orion.

Can anyone help me, I really don't want to miss TAG.

Hi Dave, i was given a replacement fuseboard by the dealer who sold me my previous chimaera, however while i waited for it the old one was fixed. but they are different sizes. you are welcome to have the one i did not use.
it is in Stansted and i will be home at 7pm. i realise this may not suit your plans but the offer is there as back up

Many thanks Lester that's very kind of you.

If its OK with you I will keep it in my bag of options.

I am working today, so right now I am trying to recruit in a good a auto sparks in Watford to see if the problem can be sorted in time for TAG11.

If not I will be the only one attending TAG11 in a Toyota Prius frown

I will PM you if I need to take up your kind offer of a fuse board, should be able to do Watford to Stansted in 45 mins if I need to.

Thanks again, Dave.

Mate, that's above & beyond the call of duty and very much appreciated.

I really don't want to miss TAG.

I am going to PM you now, the photo of the fuse board will at least help us establish if we are on the right track.

Thanks again, Dave.

Dave.

What the hell can be wrong with your board that can't be fixed in situ??

Surely a new board is extreme.

Mate, its a starter circuit fault.

  • Starter fuse blew in the board (no big deal)
  • But the board has had issues there before, by the look of it the board is melted on that circuit
  • Replaced the fuse, blew immediately, more smoke yikes
  • Seems the board is now so messed up on the ignition fuse connection that just one blade of the fuse is enough to complete the circuit so the fuse is effectively redundant
Obviously the first step is to locate the short & fix it, shame I am driving my desk today and cant get to the car, or I would be sorting it myself.

Once the short is located & made good the plan is to remove the board and make a fly lead on that circuit with a fuse holder as a temporary fix.

However I personally don't think the words "temporary" & "TVR electrics" go together too well.

Clearly the correct & permanent fix is he replace the burnt fuse board with a new one.

Lester is helping me here.

I have just had a call to say the Auto Sparks will be with the car at 11.30am so all may well be saved.

Fingers crossed!!!!!!
