Following a recent PH article about engine component wear and that you should warm an engine before hammering it led me to thinking about pre-oilers i.e. small electric oil pump run for a few seconds before starting to lubricate areas oil has drained from and to give some oil pressure while cranking.

Anyone fitted one - anyone think it's worthwhile fitting one ?

Can't help with that but on a similar point - before the winter sets in I am will be fitting an Eberspacher heater in the boot!!! cos i'm getting too old for all the hassle of de-icing, de-misting etc.
Ideally i wanted to fit the pre-heater type as this would warm the engine as well (back to your point).
However due to the inneficiencies of the existing heater system the pre-heater wouldnt be good enough for warming the inside. So blown air it's gonna be.
