Are you sure there is no way to secure a baby seat in a chimaera legally?

Baby maker wants us all to ride together? (ok at the moment as baby is a day late)

Kwacker

And as much as I would like a Cerbera I won't get rid of the chimaera and can't afford another TVR.

Eh?

Are you asking if you and the missus can ride with the baby seat secured elsewhere?

If so then no - not without significant modifications.

The car has two seats. It is classed as having two seats. Carrying any more than two people is thus illegal no matter what you do.

Leave the "baby maker" at home and take the baby out for a quality hoon.

It's quite easy. You fit a lovely baby seat in the passenger seat and hold the boot lid up while the wife makes herself comfortable.

Not sure if you'll still be able to get the golf clubs in though. wink

Would it be possible to put it through SVA approval with a baby seat bolted to the parcel shelf?

I wish ! We've got 2 yr old twins, one goes in my passenger seat the other in the V8 merc with the missus. Then the kids change places for the return trip. All good except for fuel economy. Trips using both cars are returning about 8 miles per gallon combined......

When I were a lad, you could leave a kid in the footwell and no one would bat an eyelid

Its now IVA not SVA, I can't think of any reason why you couldn't anchor to the chassis and put through IVA. There is the problem however that a Chimaera would not pass anyway on many issues. I have put 3 cars that I've built through the test and it wouldn't be worth the agro.

'Baby maker'? WTF?

I guess if you 'won't' get rid of the Chim then you'll just have to learn to live with finding a babysitter.

Don't be mean silver, might be his first, I'm still going goo-goo-ga-ga after 2 years of it. Unless it's dementia in my case. Or getting high on the glue fumes....

hehe

I wanted to question the baby-maker label but got confused in a chicken and egg/two to tango kind of way. I'm blonde that way.

Blame it on the glue fumes (like me)
We drive TVRs, which the snipers say all stink of glue, so it must be true

True. The first comment I had about mine when carrying a passenger was 'It smells old. And of glue.' biggrin

Wouldn't the sprog be higher than the boot to windscreen line & therefore get their head sandpapered flat in any rolled over scenarios.

Hopefully the Baby Maker has ejected her package and it doesn't need to come out the "Sunroof" already :-)
