Hi,

I have had the radio dash panel off and despite trying to keep note of the wiring I appear to have messed up! Now I have no headlights...

The fuses have been checked to make sure there isnt anything blown there and my full beam still works.

Anyone got any suggestions on how I can work out whats gone wrong?

Cheers

What year is your car, mine is 98 and has a ribbon type cable to the headlight switch, sounds like you may have displaced it.

sorry just looked at your profile, not sure if 95 models have this arrangement.

mines a 96 - i had a similar situation but with the rear lights (when fitting radio)

Turned out that one of the wires had come loose from it's spade connector onto the switch. pull the panel back off, turn the lights on abd have a good jiggle, should bcome obvious whats up.

Any way to make sure I have the right connections on each switch?

Here are some pics of the wiring

http://www.yogile.com/radiopanel

They are not the best but maybe someone can spot something wrong?

You may well have the right connectors on the switches, just in the wrong places..

They are twin pole switches (like 2 switches in one) so instead of InA -> OutA + InB - OutB you have connected them up InA -> InB + OutA - OutB.

ETA: BTW delete the pictures, if you want meaningful input take them again with the warning light wiring removed as that obscures all the switch connections.

Had another look tonight and took some more photos.

Is there a wiring diagram this should follow?

I can get you a full wiring diagram of the switches after the GP qually tonight.

I'm working on an update of www.rv8r.co.uk

You will be the first to see it. It's a bit rough as I'm still working on it.

As an aside, I had someone tear my lower dash off and I mixed up two of the wires - I'm a bit colour-blind - and had the same problem.

Hi Derek,

That would be fantastic! Rough diagrams are better than nothing which is what I have at the moment.

Much appreciated

YHM. There was the safety car period at Le Mans so I did it then.
