I made an inquiry for a track insurance for Spa on my .1 997GT3 RS - came up to £900 for 1 day (from CCI)
Super expensive i found, no wonder why so many people track without any! I so far too have always tracked without...might continue to do so.

Any idea who else would offer a more competitive quote?

Assume that's ~£90K cover with a 10% excess - don't think you're going to find a massively cheaper quote than that unfortunately.

Options are:-

1) bend over and pay,
2) insure it for a lower amount on the basis that the salvage is probably stil worth £25K
3) run uninsured
4) bat cat hire!

Or get annual cover that includes some trackdays too.

There's no point insuring the full value on one day cover is there? thought they always excluded engine & gearbox.

A friend of mine is insuring his 430 F1 valued at 80 000 with 5 track days a year with Competition car insurance for 1000 pounds only.

The excess is only a 1000 on track too.

Paying 600 pounds for my Viper with 5 track days with them too.

Eduardo.

I pay £60 per trackday and that inludes tourist days at the Ring - Highway Insurance (part of LV) via Keith Michaels Insurance Broker - as for Gary Moulson and tell him terryb with the GT3 recommended him. Very keen prices too.

Is that in addition to a road policy with them, or a standalone policy?

Thats slightly annoying. I have a Highway policy via Brentacre as brokers who said that additional track cover isn't availble (perhaps not something they do it certainly is available from Highway as shown above)

As it is I only pay £73 per day through CCI anyway.

In addition to a road policy. Car is covered for full value and only £1500 excess for trackdays

My Exige is insured with Groupama through Keith Michaels.
They also charge £60 per track day over and above my normal yearly policy.

(haven't managed to get on track as yet, though...)

I used to be with Groupama. but they stopped covering the Ring, so had to change to Highway - but not as cheap as Groupama.

Not quite the whole story: they won't do TF at the ring any more, but on ATDO organised trackdays such as Darren's or Jonny's you're covered.

I got a company that insure my M3 cheap 114 quid per european event as long as its run by a UK track day company. I'll dig the info when I'm home later.

Also 90 pounds per UK run event too...fully comp and agreed value

It may be a tad more expensive on your car but its piece of mind....oh and they even cover the Ring too!!!
