I've managed to get hold of a mandolin (specifically a Fender Acoustic one), but other than eBay and Gumtree, I don't know where to offer it for sale. The problem is that I don't think eBay or Gumtree are specialist enough for it - the only link on eBay is to a brand new one from Fender US.

Is there anywhere that is particularly suited to shifting £150-odd worth of mandolin?

Thanks for any tips smile

Find a shop that sells them, they may agree to sell it for you and take a commission.

This chap sells ukes and banjos but I believe he knows quite a few folk in the stringed instrument business. Perhaps drop him a line to see if he knows the best way to sell?

(Warning - his website is functional at best, but he knows his instruments, not web design! hehe)

Ah, thankyou smile

I'll probably pop down the music shop tomorrow to see if I can shift it locally, but I'll give the ukulele man a call too.

You could try "Hobgoblin", or there's a place in Brighton called "The Acoustic Music Company" who sells second hand Mandolins - www.theacousticmusicco.co.uk

Is it a bowlback or flatback?

Erm, I don't actually know anything about them, but it's this one:

That's a flatback.

That's more suited to "folky" mandolin playing than classical, just so that you know smile
