Surely Renault wouldn't be the worst offender

Just read the story on Autosport - http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/91972 - about Renault being allowed to run their black and gold livery in Canada, the authorities having accepted that whilst reminiscent of the tobacco sponsored livery from the 1980s Renault are not receiving any money, directly or indirectly from JPS or any other tobacco company.

Have to say, whilst not really wanting to open old arguments, that if they even considered this it is pretty astounding that Ferrari are allowed to race in Canada - they do receive backing from Philip Morris and run a colour scheme which is reminiscent of the Marlboro colour scheme, albeit slightly less than previously following the last publicity about it.

And i'm not a smoker.

I just think the "ban everything" attitude is just st.
They should let them race in whatever livery they want.
Why Renault is trying to look like a Lotus is another matter..
