Early girff OZ's

Roughly what value do a set of used OZ split rims from an early griff have?
Is it worth selling or just hang on to them?

They would benefit from a refurb and have good(6mm) Dunlop sp9000's on them.

Any ideas?

If they've still got the centre caps and are in half-decent condition, a set is probably worth a fair bit - £3-400 w/out tyres?? - as they're no longer made.
I'll start the bids at £30 the set

1) A set of mint ones went on ebay for over £800
2) A set of excellent ones (allegedly) appeared in Sprint for £100 and were sold before my magazine hit the mat (not to me ). Apparently I was about caller no.30 and I called immediately next day after receiving Sprint.
3) A set of scruffy ones on ebay seemed (I did not follow the auction to close) to struggle to reach £80

The reasons I think are that they are rare, but very expensive (and difficult) to refurb. So you can sell scruffy ones cheap, or mint ones for a LOT of money.

heard recently they are around £200 a wheel to refurb

I was one of the callers, but probably not even in the top 30 since I called a few days after.

FFG's had his done, £100 per wheel the re-furb, plus £200 for a full set of bolts. Adding up that means that a set of 4, but requiring re-furb and re-bolting, assuming the £800 on e-bay, should be worth around £200.

Just had mine done which cost £600.
It also depends on the condition of the 30 bolts on each rim, mine were very badly corroded and needed new one's which were £200 a set (Titanium) making the total £800.
Well worth it though

Maggit,
Mine cost the same as Glens in the end - £600 plus £200 for the replacement bolts but they look great. Add in the new valves, caps and tyres then the total is around £1,200 plus initial purchase costs. Expensive but not too bad when compared to some of the aftermarket jobbies.

About £800 I'd say.

I wouldn't bother getting them refurbed if the profit will be the same because your market will be smaller - too good for trackdays etc.

Not had the chance to get the tyres on yet never mind fit them as just come back from hols (unpacking, washing, sorting the post etc)and been mega busy at work. Should get the boots on on Saturday and possibly fit over the weekend.
Glen will have had his on for about three weeks now.
Will put some pics on when I have taken some.
I wouldn't sell mine even if you offered me £1,500.

Going the motor show Sunday so look forward to a free beer on the TVR stand and a good look at the cars of course.
