So much better than an S1 in every way, who could even consider buying an S1 when the gentleman has given us the golden opportunity of purchasing this gem.

This guy will undoubtedly get next to nothing for his car, as its clearly been caned and his poetic licence is highly amusing. What was he trying to race? A hairdresser in a Porsche 924??? I think his appraisal of anything can been disregarded as nonsense so I would let it bother you.

Seller assures me it is an MT75 and refers me to page 95, chapter 7 in Steve Heath book (must have an older edition because chapter 10 starting on page 184 deals with the transmission in my edition) 
He also refered me to the "alternative parts list" which, to be fair, does say type N or MT75 ?
Will be interesting to see what this little rocket goes for (hope new owner won't be too dissappointed when he finds out it won't quite beat just about anything else on the road).

The answer was -the standard arrangement is a crude bush bonded into the grp just below the screen pillar which the door pin gringds away in, rough treatment causes the area around the bush to break away from the rest of the car, there is a relatively thin layer of grp holding the bush in and on my car bost bushes had broken right out of the shell taking a patch of grp with them leaving the doors falling off! i cut away the damaged area under the screen pillar very neathly, had top hat threaded plugs made up with very wide brims that pressed into holes made either side of the cut outs, with the wide brims of the top hats on the inside and the threaded hats pressed through the holes revealed on the outside. then steels plates with new fabricated (tig welded together) pin locating gussets could be secured over the cut out and top hats with counter sunk stainless bolts from the outside and all hidden under the closed bonnet, very strong.
