Some idiotic marshal decided it would be a great idea to run out in front of Buemi's car at a charity event in Japan. What I also find interesting is the sound the car, is it just me or does it look like a Red Bull RB5/6 but sound a bit like a V10? I'm sure I watched a video of a Red Bull promo event last year (think it was the simulated pit stop they did in London) that also featured a newer look car that sounded a lot like it had 10 cylinders, not 8.

Any running of an F1 car in whatever event is considered a test and therefore banned. Hence, demo runs such as this and at Goodwood always use cars from previous seasons, even if they carry current liveries.

It's a Toro Rosso STR1 in a Red Bull livery.

with new nose and RB5 bits bolted on
and a Renault V10 instead of a cosworth.

The Red Bull show car does run a V10.

That'll teach me for trusting Google chrome with it's American spell checker... (though I think the American spelling refers mainly to the military rank) Mods feel free to edit the title to hide my indiscretion!

Back to the car, thanks Streps, that now makes a lot of sense!

Why does everyone say that Buemi drove into the marshal? The Marshal jumped on to him.

Yes, it looks to me like the guy was actually trying to jump over the car in a flash/cool move approach...... Which failed....

I am suprised no-one has mentioned the superb timing of the 'marshal' - it had to be planned surely? If his leg had slipped down in front of the rear wheel he wouldn't have wandered off!

What a pillock, even more shocking considering he was a (safety?) marshall!

That nob should have any and all marshalling priviledges revoked.
