Removing Crank Drive Pulley
Discussion
Hi guys,
I am taking the head off my wifes Tigra as the HG has gone. In order to get the cambelt off I need to remove the drive belt pulley thats in front of the crank. The Haynes Manual suggests to put the car in 1st gear and then undo the retaining bolt. However this just turns the engine over.
If I were to lock the cam pulleys in place would this enable me to undo the nut?
Cheers

lol I have sorted most of the air hoses on the manifolds so this is the last thing to sort.
Just got the misses to push on the breaks in 1st and theres a lot more resistance before but still turns over. Shall get one of my mates round to push the breaks down in a manly way...oh and will try 4th
I did read about the trick with the starter, however thats a no go as 1/4 of the engine is now in my garage.
