Extraordinary bit of retaliation this afternoon.

Been watching fia gt's at Silverstone this afternoon when Stefan mucke's car came back into the pit on back of a truck in a very sorry state. (will post pic when not on my mobile).

Huge amount of damage to front end.

Then I saw the incident on YouTube.

Blimey. Always thought mucke was a tasty driver but seems as if he overstepped the line today. Looks as if he was flicking Westbrook the bird when he lost control (or was it deliberate).

Difficult to tell from the quality I've seen.

Jesus, what posesed him to do that. The first incident was a nudge and the retaliation was just plain stupid.

Definately deliberate, did i hear him lift just before hiiting him?

Has there been a stewards enquiry into this incident?

I think finally Stefan had had enough of the crazy driving in the series, there is not a race that has gone by this season that hasnt seen a first lap accident more than often involving his car being taken out in something that wasnt their fault. But it is no excuse, driving like that needs to be punished, maybe he should be banned from racing Le Mans next weekend?

The driving in the series is crazy, alot more contact that WTCC, BTCC put together.

I must admit i don't really follow this series, so didn't realise he was that unlucky.

I would imagine some sort of ban may take place if he is going to intentionally cause a crash.

Deary me, giving someone a wker gesture whilst crashing into the side of them! What a complete, umm, wker. The other driver wouldn't even have been able to see it anyway (as he'd have been concentrating on the track). Definately deserves two bans, one for st driving, the other for being a dumbass.

Looks to me as he was giving him the wker sign as he drove close and as he looked at the guy he naturally steered a little bit left.. and bop.

I'd agree. If you're trying to punt someone off, you don't do it whilst steering with one hand and "waving" with the other.

Although the first incident was a "racing incident", Westbrook's move did look highly speculative. His LF corner was barely level with Mucke's RR. He had no chance of getting past Mucke there, and Mucke could not have been expected to know that Westbrook's car was overlapping his.

Although it would appear at first glance that Mucke was very much the pantomime villain, I'd submit that Westbrook's hitting him was close to deserving a penalty, and Mucke's subsequent "retaliation" was a genuine error.

Yup, I think I agree with both your sentiments after seeing it on a larger screen.

Seems that there is some history with Mucke as well. He (and Turner) have been punted out of a few races this year and I think Mucke might have had a little too much of the 'red mist' this time out. Such a shame as he was up to about 6th place from 18th on the grid (courtesy of being punted off in yesterdays race). He did that in as few as 10 laps. No doubt that will be forgotten when he has been involved in an incident like this. In (a slight) defence of Westbrook it looks as if he locks up and gets the car onto the kerb at the last minute obviously realising he was being a bit ambitious but obviously too late.

Intentional or not (and personally I don't think the hit was) its fecking stupid. As has been mentionned, GT1 has turned into bumper cars recently. On Saturday, Mucke's car (with Turner onboard) was unceremoniously removed from the race at the 4th corner of the first lap by a spectacularly st bit of driving by David Brabham. Team spent the night rebuilding it and the it gets punted off again by another st lunge at a non overtaking corner.

Understand Mucke's fructration but dangerous driving is still dangerous driving....

It's such a shame he resorted to it as it obviously took some skillful driving just to catch him up, or was Westy's car suffering from the initial prang, I didn't see the race.

Is Stefan related at all to Michael SchuMucke???

The cheif bolt on that car is fecking furious! I was at Oulton Park with the BARC Formula Renaults the week before and things were kicking of there as well.
