...these are the main problems I need to sort ready for my MOT.

I've 99% completed a body-off rebuild so earths etc should be tip top, horn has never worked, indies definitely did (now both front and repeater failing) and unsure of fans.

Any suggestions welcomed, particularly the location of any hard to find grounds/supplies etc I may have missed and are these three fed by some common point in the loom perhaps?

Cheers!
Sam

The horn and fans on my '92 Griff are on the same fuse. I peep the horn to check the fuse is still ok if I'm running in traffic.

That can be a dangerous misconception Ian, all the fans have at least 2 fuses.. The horn fuse just happens to protect the circuit to the otter switch, there is also a fuse for the power to the fans on the other side of the relay. If either blow your fans won't work...

OP sounds like a normal front earth problem, but rather than the ring term - chassis it could be the cables - ring term. I'd peel back the insulation and check the condition of all the wires where they enter the crimp. You could test resistance between the connectors and the ground point if you are comfortable with electrical testing. I'd personally still make sure the mechanical joint of all those earths is good whilst 'car rebuilding' as they seem to get strained over time.

Thank you gents, valuable info ... Sorry Dave, but are we talking about the term' that bolts into the front end of the chassis rail?

Now you know where it is, you should be able to undo it with the rad insitu?

Possibly so, I'm not at the car to see. Got to remove plenum and check/fix heater pipe connections anyway so removing the rad wouldn't be so significant anyway. Better access to nosecone wiring too.

Projects ... gotta love em!
