Well,

Finally joined the ranks of E46 M3 owners on Saturday and I must say
it's been a joy. Fantastic car.

Nice one.. thumbup

Carbon black, eh ? Suggest stocking up on AutoGlym Super Resin - if your experiences match mine, I'll think you'll need it if the old girl is to stand any chance of staying shiny for more than a day !! hehe

I have a few polishes to choose from ..

Sonus, Meguires, Autoglym and finally Zxymol.

Might need to experiment which is best.

The 18's are what the chassis/suspension were developed to run on...the 19's were the marketing departments invention. I succumbed to the hype though and had 19's on mine! Think the 19's look quite dated now....

congrats on the new purchase, i still love driving mine after 12 months,
on the polish/wax front, grab yourself some 'poorboys blackhole' a glaze to use before you put a good carnuba wax, give a superb base for your wax and will mask some of the swirls, used on my mystic blue m with great results..

You really need to clay the car prior to any polish, glaze or wax for that matter.

With it being dark in colour then you need to use a mild clay such as sonus green to minimise marring. Then use a paint cleanser such as Zymol HD cleanse or Dodo limeprime lite. Then you can fill any minor marring and some swirls with a glaze such as PB black hols as suggested. Then finally choose your LSP - a sealant such as nanolex or a wax such as zymol etc.

Allow yourself a good day if its your first time
