Having just realised yesterday my EHIC expired last week (excellent bit of planning on my part there) I thought I should sort out some travel insurance.

Bigbluecover sorted out travel insurance for the Weds-Sun for £3.70. I thought that was a bit of a bargain so thought I'd let you guys know in case it could save you a few quid smile

I'm sure I renewed my EHIC card in a couple of minutes on the automated phone line thing. The card number didn't change so as long as you have the number and it's valid you have cover.

Details at: http://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/Healthcareabroad/EHIC...

I've done the renewal yesterday but the card has an expiry date on it so not sure if it'll cause me problems. I doubt the replacement card will arrive by tomorrow, and I'm leaving before Weds post gets delivered.

There might be a reason why they are so reasonably priced.

Did a simple google search on them to find their details, and there are a number of links to sites advising to avoid the underwriters that they use, so be careful
