Imagine you could "freeze" a car you bought today for 10 years and then "defrost" it in 10 years time leaving the car exactly how it was pre-freeze scratchchin

I havnt been on the mushrooms (honest), if this scenario was possible and you had £10k to spend today, what car would you buy in the hope of making money i.e. the "frozen" car appreciating? links of cars for sale would be great!

A few I could think of:
  • Ford Racing Puma
  • Renault Clio V6 Phase I
  • Lotus Elise S1

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Mercedes-Benz E320 cabriolet (124-series). They will be mega-money in ten years' time.

I'd probably go for the Elise as well. Or perhaps some limited edition MX5 with a supercharger or something.

BMW E30 M3? Granted it won't be the best example for £10k but over 10 years it must go up in value i would have thought.

Mcrea Impreza, as original as possible or with the right Pro-drive bits.

Or 2 standard Renault 5 GT Turbos.

Maser 3200 might be worth a shot. Seeing as it won't ruin you with bills in its magic time capsule. ;P

I think they are very underpriced cars. The 3200's rear lights are awesome.

Just my 2p.

This is a great shout, as is the MKI FRS.

The reason I suggested a "magic capsule" is to rule out people saying "...but it will ruin you with the running costs etc", I even ruled out the people who would have said "Lack of use is no good for the seals, engine, interior etc" wink

Im sure a mint Mini (not Bini) Cooper may become a bit of a collectors item?

I'd go for an E30 M3, Clio V6, Focus RS, S1 Escort RST or a mint mk1 Golf GTI.

Minty 968 ( if you can get one on that budget ) would also go up I assume. People have a right hard on for them even at the moment. Failing that the slightly poorer cousin of a 250 bhp 944 Turbo Silver Rose etc etc? And no I don't think some 944 interiors will ever dome back to being cool & kitsch like some 70's ones may have! :P

One of the last “proper” Minis… Renault Spider… Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VI

A mixed bunch, but guaranteed to provide smiles for different reasons once thawed out!

928 GT (manual version)
late 80's 911 carrera coupe
Escort cosworth (original)
E28 M5
Audi RS2
C3 Corvette
Late 60's Camaro (if you're lucky)
R32 GTR V-spec
Mitsi Evo 6 Tommi Mak edition (possibly)
And as a previous poster pointed out, E36 M3 GT

Keep them all as factory original and low miles as possible = winner.

You think you'll be able to afford the petrol in 10 years time?
