...or that's what it looks like after taking the back end off axle stands after 2 weeks hehe

Basically the back end was on axle stands with the weight of the wishbones, shocks, springs etc hanging down for a couple of weeks whilst I awaited parts to refurbish the brakes, and now after a full day of being back on the ground the hind end still points skywards and the space between the wheel and arch is ridiculous!

So, do I just need to leave it longer to settle?
Should I throw a few concrete blocks in the boot to assist it lower to normal height?
Have the springs stretched permanently? (please not this one!)

Can't you just push it up and down a bit or sit in the boot for a while ?! I'm sure the weight of the car and a few drives around corners will see it settle quickly.

I think my neighbours might call the local mental illness facility if they see me sat in the boot of my car on the drive hehe

I've got a load of concrete blocks in the garden for a building project, I think I'll bung a few of them on to assist, there's not much weight in the back of the car so I know that won't be helping.

I know it can take time to settle, just concerned that as the weight has been hanging off the rear suspension for so long that I've permanently buggered something up!

Has it actually been driven yet? If you've just dropped it off the axle stands and expect it to drop you'll be disappointed wink

No, not yet! I've never had it up on stands for this long so haven't experienced this before, I'll get it out tonight for a throw around some roundabouts to suitably load up the suspension smile

As for sitting in the boot, I want the suspension returned to it's normal level, not lowered until the arse of the car drags on the ground tongue out

No need to throw it around - rolling it a few feet will probably do the job. However, pictures of you sitting in the boot do seem to be appropriate smile

when you're at maximum droop (on axle stands) the wheels are closer together due to the angle of the wishbones - so when you lower the car, the wheels 'pinch' and keep the car sitting higher than it should. you just need to roll it a few metres forwards and then back to sort it out

I sit on the boot of mine while I fill it up at petrol station.
