Morning,

Just got a new bumper fitted with a very tasty carbon lip on it. It looks fantastic although after a few weeks of motorway driving I fear its going to be covered in chips, which will look awful.

Anyone used protective film on a bumper? or is there any other way to protect it?

cheers
Adam

The entire front of my car is covered in Armourfend, which seems to do the job. It's not cheap, though.

can you tell that the film is there or is it pretty invisible?

The film is transparent but does stand about 1/4mm proud of the body, so the edge can become visible over time as stuff builds up against it (wax being the biggest culprit if you aren't careful when cleaning it). I have edges running right across the bonnet and wings of the Elise and it's not really visible, on a splitter I don't think you'd see it at all.
