I think it looks quite Italian although some of the Japanese cars have followed similar lines.

We thought maybe a Maserati to start with but couldn't find an exact match. Then we considered a Skyline of some kind but again it is not quite right!

The guy has bought this as a weekend car with a 3 litre 3 series as his day to day.

Any ides?

cheers

I see what you mean... wheels too far out to be a Mazzer though..

Looks a bit like a Fiat Coupe.

It looks like an E46 M3 with lip spoiler to me.

Hmm, can't quite see it being an NSX. It does look a bit like a Fiat Coupe but great cars though they are, when you already have a 3 litre Beemer I can't see anyone buying that as the weekend "fun" car.

Yeah it looks really narrow at the top and a lot lot wider at the wheels. Weird. I thought it looked like an NSX with a small spoiler but realised they aren't that narrow at the top...

Edit: To add picture

Actually, I've just read the post again. Firstly, he has a 3 litre Beemer already so it can't be an M3. And, looking closer, it does indeed look far narrower at the front. No idea...

I'm thinking 240/260z race car as that would explain the spoiler and the narrow top, very wide bottom, but it think that it's maybe a little too tall for that.

Impreza with the low level spoiler? Roof to spoiler and width look about right.

My guess would be some kind of oldish porker, with a big whale tail... I'm no expert though.

Surfymark, this may be a daft question but do you know what it is?

The reason I ask is that your posts seem to suggest you don't but you say that the owner already has a BMW and has bought this has a weekend toy which tells me that you've spoken to the owner. And the photo has been taken at close i.e. maybe when you were speaking to the owner?

I'm a bit confused!!

Nope haven't seen the car and have no idea what it is.

He just posted it on a friend's Facebook page with the comment that it was his new weekend only car. The friend knows that he has the beemer already but I have never even met the chap!
