Friday night plans

Having done pretty much the same thing each year I want to try something different this year... what are your plans for the Friday night?

Interested in the parade or perhaps heading into Arnage. Infact, the parade is one thing I really should have done by now!

The parade is brilliant, I went for the first time last year and couldn't understand why I had never been before.

Done the parade a few times in the past and had given it a rest for the last few years however we have a virgin in the group this year , So seems like a good excuse to go up town again on the Friday. Dunno what state i will be in on the Saturday mind....

After spending Friday evening as i always do at Mulligans Irish bar on Rue Docteur Le Roy, i intend to be as pissed as my nans mattress.

drive out to St Santurin in the morning for the British Welcome event.

off to the PH meet at the Bounty early afternoon for a beer and a pie.

and then into to town

the back to the TL beer tent to the early hours.

happy days.

This will be my fifth year at Le Mans and the first time we've actually pondered going into town on the Friday! Can anyone recommend the best pubs / bars? Also what time does the driver's parade start, and what time do you need to get there by to get a decent view of it?

I just wish they had taxis running from town after bloody midnight. Getting bored of waiting over an hour for supposedly pre-booked taxis to bother turning up!

What time do the trams run till then? Are they adequate for the crowds too?

About midnight I think, but nothing is ever certain!

The Parade is an absolute must. Didn't get back to the circuit until 4am last time!

No problem with a taxi at that time of the morning...

As for bars, the town square is full of them, with the centre of it taken up with beer tents and stalls. Then all the streets on the route have little beer kiosks every 6 feet or so, which ought to satisfy the most ardent imbibers...

So just how far is the Town from the track, I'm staying at the aerodrome just outside ?
Would the tram even go that way I wonder ? so much to do and dont want to miss anything!

Get the tram at Houx, and get off in the town square. Easy as that. Its about a 3 or 4 miles walk which is nice if its dry, and not too many bars on the way, which means you're more likely to find the centre without too much difficulty. Some reasonable eateries in town near the river which helps break up the monotonous bbq'd sausage routine a little.

Err, no.

The tram goes from Houx Annexe roundabout. Bloody miles (literally) from your place.

12 years and i have never done the parade, what time is that as think may have to be done this year.

Don't go to the Antares terminal stop. That's miles from the aerodrome. Walk up the hill to the roundabout and follow the road into town. That will bring you out at the tram line a couple of stops further along.
