Yes, it's electric, but all you nay-sayers ignore that fact for a second, and just look at it.

I know there is a lot of Jaguar/Aston/Mazda in there, but by God it's a good looking car. I bloody love it.

Also seems it'll be useful, too:

WCF article said:
The car will come in 3 main variants which differ in range. The most expensive, the Model S 300M which costs approximately $77,400, having the largest battery pack with a range of approximately 300 miles (483 km).

Cheaper variants with less range will also be offered - the 230M (230 miles/307 km) and 160M (160 miles/258 km) - each costing around $10,000 less than the next longer-range model.

I just can't get excited about electric cars at all.

For me, engine noise is important - even when motorway cruising / wafting.

Thats lovely, will need a quick recharge time though.

Noise can be produced via a Benedini sound system as used on models.

Looks very nice. 300 mile range. I'd say IF it looked like that, went well, REALLY DID 300 miles and was say sub £50k they'd sell like hot cakes.

That's the production car, so it will look exactly like that. It will go VERY well, but you won't get 300 miles if you do that. It's all about compromise.

They're not breaking any new tech here either, to get the 300 miles they're using more batteries, of a higher quality. If you drive on the motorway i'm very certain it'll do 300 miles.

And if you have a 32A charging point it'll fully recharge in about 3 to 4 hours. I'd expect the 300 model to cost about £70,000 over here, with the lesser models dropping by £10k each.

That's jaw dropping eek

It's horrifically plagiarised. Not one unique body feature on it, but they've taken all the sexy bits of all the mid/high range saloons and stuck them on one car.

I like.

Tiff drove the tesla (elise one) without any regard to economy, including a blat around a track. He got over 200 miles and still had a charge left, against a claimed £250 range by tesla. I'd say if tesla say 300 miles, then it can easily be achieved.

Conversely, I had a US-spec Tesla roadster for a day, and whereas it said 250 miles, i got much less...

However, that was an old model, with old tech. I've since driven the new Roadster Sport, and it was a much better car, much better handling and I got 190 miles out of it, and I wasn't hanging around...

It will be silent and you won't have to go to petrol stations to mix it with the poor people

Drive it home after a day at the office and it recharges while you sleep.

Unless you are one of the wierd folk that drives 600 miles a day and has to get up twice everynight to go to the hospitial with a sick child
