My mat is looking to replace his 205 which has now done close to 300K miles with another low mileage car 205 Diesel. I have looked on Autotrader, on here and on Ebay but there are no low mileage "mint" cars...

Anyone got any suggestions where to look for one other than keep looking on the above?

Probably some sort of owners club, which may have people with better then average examples who may be looking to sell.

Be warned, such people tend to attach a sometimes imo unreasonable valuation to their cars.

If he accumulated 300k miles in his previous 205d, why is he opposed to finding one which has been well cared for/serviced with 100-150k and then using it for another 150-200k? Will be much more economically sound than finding a rare low mileage example which will be up for a high price.

Similar my mates dad got a 25k mile J reg 1.8D, every MOT and Pug stamp in book every year since new for £300 from an elderly relative!

I've got first dibs when he wants rid but I doubt he ever will, it's immaculate!

Don't know why it needs to be mint.

How about this for sub-£400?

if he buys something like that he will be forever doing a rolling restoration. Better to buy something in the best possible condition and then maintain it properly, so something with 50k miles may have a life of another 250K if the last one is anything to go by... He would buy a new one if they were not all electronically controlled and full of stuff you can repair yourself, so its not the money that's the issue.

Been to see a K reg 205 today. Described as immaculate by the owner on the phone but when I got there a walk around it was enough to just walk away... there was rust everywhere, covered up by some ill matching blue paint. good job it was local!

I asked the owner if he really though it was immaculate... he just shrugged. I just said thanks for wasting my time and drove away...

the search goes on!
