Anyone know of Gendarme speed traps on the way down?

There are a few sneaky spots on the A16/A28, but wondering if anyone going down today or tomorrow has any up front info or posting back to the forum... not that I intend to break their laws or anything!

For those with a Tom Tom and the 'live' feature, I shall be pressing the little button to identify any new speed traps if we spot any sneaky buggers hiding in the weeds.

Nice one Nick. I do know the little tikes hide behind some of the bridges and 'gun' you as you pass through. I guess the warning is to slow down when approaching bridges or other blocking structures.

As far as I am aware, my French Maps for Tom Tom 'Live' only identify fixed placement cameras (as with the UK). mobile units with radar guns are not detected - you need a radar detecter for this - which are illegal in France.

Indeed you could, but I find it odd that locals seem happy to hang on your tail, press by then steam on ahead and never get pulled over. Those leather booted cops just seem unreasonably trigger happy when it comes to GB plates and Le Mans week. Money for nothing.

It's been said before, but I believe the gendarmes make their annual speeding detection targets in one weekend between the ports and LM... if you do speed all the way then you will be very likely to get caught

I didn't see any but was mostly sticking to the limits until the really long 20euro toll road .. didn't see any there either though.

Think I will go the back roads and keep out of there way, Very loud subaru is too easy to be picked out. roll on tomorrow
