Finally got around to putting 12 months MOT on the Chim and put her up for sale for what I think
is a very fair price for a 500 http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2891308.htm Question is how long
will I be able to last TVR,Less ? Managed about 18 months the last time and I'm already looking
at Tuscan classified's. If I had more room at the house I'd probably keep this one. Always fancied
a Cerbera too wink
Anyone else sold their TVR only to come back again and again ? My next will be my 5th !!!

Im now on my third (and slowest). Started with a 4.0HC Chimaera which was sold to a French chap, followed by an early Tamora. i'm now on my third (a basic 4.0 Chimaera) after a 5 year child induced hiatus. I suspect there will be more.

Crazy cheap you mean - Was going to put mine up this week but think I'll hold off now. Don't want yours pulling the price down wink

Almost tempted to buy it and put it back up again with 2-3K added on top biggrin

After trading up from my first Chim to a Cerb when wifey was pregnant (parking in mother-and-child spaces at the supermarket was hilarious), I eventually was overcome with a sense of responsiblity and swapped it for an E39 M5. 400bhp V8, RWD yet four doors and could take two baby seats.

I lasted about six months before I got shot of the dull heap of teutonic pig iron and got back into a TVR.

This is my fourth TVR. Started with a Tasmin 280i, then a 350i, a Griffith 400 and now recently got a Chimaera 400. All of them special in their own way, so all of them my favourites for different reasons.

Can't answer your question of whether 'you'll be back' but FWIW just to say that if I was ready to buy one right now this would be on my short list. Although it's not necessarily the very cheapest Chimaera I've seen advertised, with the lower mileage and lots done to it recently mark it out for me anyway, plus being a 500 rather than a 400/450. I'm following the classifieds to try to get a handle on prices and the various colour options, engine specs etc. Mine will have to be either your colour or metallic blue I reckon.

Good luck with the sale, if it's there when I'm looking I'll be very surprised (and suspicious I suppose biggrin ).

I bought the same car twice! Had a Chim 450 from new, beautiful car, really stunning. Sold it at 3 years old to the dealer I bought it from. 3 years later, it parked up behind me in a Sainsbury's car park. I couldn't believe it, we got chatting and it turns out he's considering chopping it in for a Tuscan. Well, one thing led to another.... Another 3 years on I sold it again, having hardly had chance to drive it for various family-induced reasons.

Now I'm back on the hunt, but for a Cerbie this time. And I'm sure this won't be the last.

As I said I think it's a good price for a 500 but I do want it to go pretty quickly as I went and
Bought my next car and really don't have room here for both and not fond of leaving one outside.
Due to the fading on the red colour It would benefit f rom a freshen up paint wise so any buyer
could potentially do this and still keep a good resale value in the car. Seems lots of people find
it hard to be without a TVR for too long and I'm pretty sure I'll be back in the fold soon.

Now reduced to £9750, It's got to go ! Can't believe only one person has
been to view and the rest are mainly Nigerian scammers and a bloke who wanted to leave me his Range Rover and take the TVR for a 24 hour test drive !

If I had somewhere to put it I'd be snapping your arm off...I just saw my neighbour and a couple of his TVR driving friends go off for a hoon. party Trouble is my RS will never get finished and strictly speaking it would finance the TVR without having to dip into savings.

Please sell it soon. smile

Looks great, and I might be interested if you've still got it in a month or so when I've got some time on my hands

Is there much of a Market for 500's right now, this one's been on ph twice now at 7.5k http://mobile.pistonheads.com/sales/1557449.htm
I'm guessing this one's got something not right ??

I see there's loads up around the 11-12k mark, but are they selling ?
Funny old Market place I guess
