Who in their right mind would pay £50k for a car that will be worth about £20k in 3years time???

Click through to their own website, it's 'only' £42,850 - it seems someone's hit a wrong key when posting the ad on here.
FWIW it lists at nearly £36k and there's about £8k of options on that car, I wouldn't pay that for a 4 cylinder 2 seater but its a discount off list of its the car someone's looking for.

Cup holders are absurd in a sports car - I thought only fat-arsed Americans use the stupid things.

I can't believe anyone would feel so strongly against a car having cupholders. Call me a new-age modernist, but sometimes I go on long drives of a few hours or more, and sometimes, just sometimes mind, I might like to have a drink at some point during that time...might just be me though

Each to their own I suppose, my E Class is fully loaded and has pretty much everything you could desire...except a cupholder in the front.
I have a large armrest storage area for sunglasses and pens etc, 2 door pockets for bits n pieces, a central cubbyhole for parking tickets and change, a pop-out drawer for mints, a wee cubby-hole under the COMAND system for keys, a storage net in the passenger footwell for other things - but not 1 f
king cupholder!

Back to the ugly little R172, I think that the interior looks very untidy and lopsided:

(N.B. this is a reversed shot of MB's LHD interior)
Why did they not site the SatNav screen symmetrically above the control panel? And why the odd placement of those rather Ford Cortina air vents? It looks an ill thought-out mess. The 'gauge within a gauge' dials look gimmicky and I still think that the arm rest / mouse pad looks clumsy.

If you can afford the flight to the planet these people are on you could pay £53,500 for one

You could have the SLK55 AMG for half that and an SL55 AMG with the change.

What a joke! I think the interior looks really plain and simple; almost japanese car style!

I'd much rather have an SLK55 with at least £30k in the bank - lets be honest, the SLK55 has shed most of its depreciation, whereas the 53.5k 350 will lose about 10k a year over the first 3 years.
I always thought the SLK and Z4 were rivals.....remind me how much you'd pay for a Z4 of similar calibre?

Still too much for what it is... but a bargain compared to the SLK!
