How to gain a German race license as a UK national
Discussion
Hi all, thanks for taking time to look. The question is this...How do I become a race driver with a UK road driving licence in Germany? I would like to compete in a few RCN and VLN rounds and would like to take a German competition license test. I know it can be done in English and on the Nurburgring, as my german is a tad hazy I was hoping someone reading this would point me in the right direction how to make my dream a reality.
You need to have a perm German address in order to get a licence from the DMSB.
You are required to send in a form from the local council that states that you are resident along with your licence applcation.
It's very annoying that the uk won't allow you to do a straight national A.
There used to be a company that did arrive and drive race rentals a the ring and they'd also arrange all of the necessaries to get you a licence.... It was run by a Herr Boltz but I can't remember the name of the company... Did track days there too...

Im looking at gaining the license in Germany to compete in the RCN and later the VLN as I spend all my time in Germany rather than the UK where I only fly/drive home for family visits and don't have the time to do it there. The Nurburgring option is only every so often, the last being in the 27th of april.
Does anyone know the license structure in germany compared to the UK? I mean what licence do I need for the RCN series and then is it the same as the VLN?
Thanks again guys

When I did mine the test involved a 3 lap assessment round the ring and then a questionnaire which was in german, but the guy hat took me on the assessment did the translation for me too. Then here was a medical which was done in the back of the ambulance in the grun holle car park.
The licence you get will allow you to do the rcn and vln, it's a national A which allows you to also compete in club races innthe rest Europe. The only upgrade you neednis if you want to do the 24hr.
In the uk you get ripped off for the ARDS test and then you only geta national B which is uk races only until you get 6 signatures and then PAY for your upgrade to a national A

Im looking at only the RCN and a round or two of the VLN, reason being competing within them is so much cheaper than in the UK and truth be told I've always wanted to race at the ring since knee high and I have the ability and means to do so now, so why wait any longer!
The actual license test on the ring how were you evaluated? And the questions within the test are they similar to the english test? I was told no need for revsion by somebody about this topic as he said all answers were given on the day.
@Dale I will drop you an email later today when I'm free and detail my intentions.
@Everyone thanks
