To that end, I'm picking up a 2010 burnt orange car next week from Scott Walker.
Yay! My first interesting car in a while, wanted something engaging, with a little bit of practicality and which would be fun to learn how to get the best out of.
Evora is definitely harder work on first acquaintance than anything I've owned before, but just slotting yourself into the car starts getting you in the zone....hope the car grows on me like the 22 did!

Hello chuck_ster, and congratulations on your new arrival, looks like a superb car. Please can you expand a little on the statement above, what aspects of the car have taken some hard work?I'm keeping a close eye on the Evora market, quite liked the look of the BRG one at Scott Walker's (to match my BRG Esprit!), but then I saw one on the road and that colour was really disappointing, it looked flat and uninspiring. Did you see the BRG one there? If so, what did you think? I think the car really works well in the bold and bright colours, but I also think that a metallic BRG would work very well, shame it wasn't an option.
You'll forgive me if I don't adress you by name DS lol, but yes I saw the BRG car, all the stock there looks fabulous, the cars he deals in are highly specced and well maintained. The colour (with brown interior iirc) is very nice, but I think it's 'too' traditional for the car..which is so modern in design. I know it's a personal/subjective thing, but I like the brighter or metallic colours on the car. His demo is a Norfolk Mustard I think, and we insected and drove that prior to seeing the orange car, it looked amazing, but when the orange car turned up even the bright yellow looked a little flat to me and my wife.
Driving? Well I only had 15 minutes, but everything takes just a little more thought than, say, a 997 or any modern Jap/German car. Clambering in, adjusting the seat and wheel, jabbing the clutch, the close-set pedals, the clarity of the instrumentation...it's all very functional, but it isn't completely carefree. My nan could drive a modern manual 911..she couldn't even start the Evora I suspect lol. Of course once you are in the car and flowing down the road everything just works .. lovely rev-hungry engine, beautiful steering feel, and, lets face it, it's nice to be in something a little left-field...I've had 4 Porsches, lovely cars, but when you aren't driving at 9/10ths they can feel a little mundane...the Lotus doesn't. Saying all that, I've been lucky..most people don't get the opportunity to get bored of the 911's cabin

Same, I've almost strayed over to another marque but keep coming back. I'm a huge fan of BRG although I agree it's a shame it's not metallic, it might just be enough to make a very traditional colour look stunning on such a modern looking car. The interior of that one's not to my taste though, looks like a conker! Still.... there's always the red one!

It is certainly a highly colour-sensitive car, I quite like;
White/Black wheels - but may date quickly, works well wit paprika interior
Oranges/either wheels - but I'm probably too chicken to go for it
Black - safe, looks awesome on the 'S' with the 19/20 wheels
What I would really like is a dark metallic green, like this from the Paris show;

Stunning.. one of the best looking Evoras I've ever seen... and yet that's not a factory colour is it? Even if it was then I can't see DB offering a TF/Team Lotus paint job even if it does look 1m times better than his JPS offering!Beautiful
For the record I was once told by a dealer that if I wanted to order a car in BRG he would want double the usual deposit in case I saw it, changed my mind and he "Got stuck with it". I think he was serious too!

I believe that Paris Evora is an 'old' Lotus colour. The same or similar paint was used on my Celebration Excel (A71 Empire Green -- ICl P4218456, referred to as Marque Lotus Metallic), and though it's not in their current catalogue, you can certainly get cars sprayed up. The paint looks almost black in average light, but then sunlight (or spotlights) pick out the subtle green shades and really flatters the curves in bodywork.

I think the Paris car is Lotus racing green, it was available up until 07-08, after that it was the flat colour only. Empire Green is amazing but a lot darker, I saw a special order Exige in that once, it looked amazing.
