Ok, after everyones helpful replies I have stripped the interior of the car including the seats!!!! in aid of cleaning and even got the top of the dash off at last, but whilst probing about trying to see why the little green triangle did not work on the heater controls I have snapped the round red one !!!
Can you replace the little lights on the heater controls, they seem to all go to one plug? if so do I have to get them main dealer???
On a second note (Sorry)
Is it possible to change the bulbs in the actual dials???
I can't actually see any bulbs??
Sorry for having a stupid day,
Cheers
Richard

The dial's bulbs are mounted in a holder that fits into a hole in the back of the dial. The holder is circular in cross section and has two connectors on the back. Should just pull out. Most dials have five wires on them. Three connect to contacts that are clearlt screwed to the back of the dial itself, so pull on the other two

If you are in that deep you should change the bulbs for LEDs that last 11 yrs in non stop use. White is nice but other colours are available.

I replace some 6000 bulbs with LEDs per month, for a very large automotive company. We have a direct replacement for the "bulb". We also do all sorts of mods. www.mod-wise.com

Don't forget that blue and white LEDs are more expensive than the typical red/yellow/green ones.
