Prompted by the "How much experience makes you experienced" thread in SP&L I thought I'd try to quantify and visualise the mileage I've done since passing my test as it is far more relevant than age.

Rounding up the world's circumference to 25,000 miles I estimated that I have driven the equivalent of 58 times around the world since passing my test xx years ago. This of course was not driving across deserts but experiencing the worst that the UK traffic and weather conditions can throw at me.

Any advances on 58 times from experienced PH drivers?

Good question! I reckon I'm up to 4 and a half times around the world. Driven in 14 countries though.

I passed my test in 1990, and a very quick fag packet calculation comes to approx 26 times around the world for me.

About 15 times, however I have twice driven a quarter of the way round or more in one hit. Once to Cape Town and once to Nepal biggrin

Tough one this. I passed in 1997 and reckon I've done a min of 12k/year every year. But suspect some of those years it was more like 20k or more and a couple doing 30-32k/year.

So a very rough est of 7 to 11 times. smile

Nearly 4 times a year for the last 8 years, and have been driving for 40 years so quite a few more times before this.

14 times for me. Been driving 14 years. Blimey, that puts it in perspective - every year I drive the equivalent of one circuit of the world..!

Well I can but think you might be taking the mick just a little bit, not that I mind though wink

Probably averaged 20k miles a year prior to driving for my livelihood so maybe another 20ish times or so. I am a petrolhead and it has cost me a fortune over the years.

About 90k per year, I run my own Chauffeur business.
