I was wondering about this kit - is this the same kit that essentially turns your bog standard 996 into a GT3 look-a-like? If so, how much is the kit, spayed, and fitted do you think. Either at a dealership or 3rd party??
I absolutly love the look of GT3 , but unfortunatly don't have the budget to buy one..

It justs adds the wing / skirts / front.

Some people also get the Wheels / Rear Mini side wings..

You tend to find most AeroKitted cars have been dropped 10-15mm also.

I dont know of costs after market, I think its a few K from porsche at order time, but would imagine its ALOT more after, given respray costs / labour / kit cost

to me tho, i think it makes the look of a 996.

with my Favourite look being the GT2 one.

The GT3 Aero kit costs about £2850 plus vat !

You can shop around and get deals which include a non genuine spoiler which helps bring the cost down.

I'm not a fan of the GT3 spoiler . The GT3 yes, but not the spoiler. I'm having the (less in your face more part of the car) Carrera spoiler fitted to my 996 C4

asked this very quastion of an OPC a month ot so ago...

sitting down....

abour £5500 plus VAt for kit and fitting spraying...

I woud go fo all the kit minus the spoiler as i also think its a bit OTT, but the lower side skirts and font bumper look good...better off buying a car with it already fitted, not too much of a premium over a standard one...

can look a bit too plastic the wrong colour car though/...

Shop around...

You get loads of supply only, supply and fit variations on Aerokit prices these days. Most of the reputable retaillers that can sell you a genuine Porsche Aerokit, will have a tie-up with a good paint shop (often OPC) that will get you a better deal.

I reckon that you could get original Porsche bits and have it painted and fitted for under £3.5K plus VAT

I think that there are a couple of versions of the 996 GT3 Aerokit and the earlier one should be cheaper by now anyway.

To coincide with the GT3 Mk2, there will be a Mk2 Aerokit, mostly the same, with a picnic table rear spoiler, as opposed to the double level one I had.

Both are nice (tho I do prefer the earlier one myself)

You might well find its cheaper to just swop cars, if you can find a good example, took me ages of searching to find the 'right one'

I was going to get a 996 with this, but it also increased my premium by 30% p.a.

Persoanlly, I prefer the normal 996 lines, but the aero kit, with a black car looks nice.

Thats interesting, dont they realise that a standard 996 with a GT3 Aerokit is going to be slower then?

i dont think the 0.000001 seconds - 60 slower is the issue, compared with the Extra Desirability and as such, nickability of the GT kit, also the Repair costs during an 'incident'
