Country pub within an hour of Brighton?

Evening all,

Looking for suggestions for a nice country pub with accommodation for me and the mrs this Saturday night. Anywhere below London heading towards Brighton is fine really, as we are in brighton the next day. Preferably somewhere where I could sit out with a pint and a cigar if the weather's nice.

The Bull in Ditchling is nice, never stayed there but eaten and drunk many times.

We have stayed at the Swan Inn in Chiddingfold - good rooms good food nice village - just south of Guildford

There's a Good Pub Guide app (for iPhone definitely, probably for other smart phones too). Not free, but definitely worth the cost IMO.

Both about 40 mins to Brighton by the scenic route.

Food at the Gravetye is supposed to be very good.
