What single car would curretly get the most 'respect' when the owner turns up at a Sunday Service type outing? What car would you choose to bring to such an event, money no object? What makes the most jaws drop, the most admiring glances, the most muttering under breaths of 'lucky barsteward'.....?

A chap has turned up to the last two big Malton meets in a Jaguar XJ220.

And its not even a full production one, its some kind of ex-works evaluation car or something apparently. Spokey race type wheels (BBS or some such) and usually a bit grubby, with mud splashes up the side, plastic windows on the back, lots of bare aluminium and rivets.

It is noisy, hot, smelly. And absolutely awesome.

The variety of shiny Ferraris and Lambos cannot hold a candle to it, and it always pulls a big crowd.

I kind of guessed this would be most peoples favourite, but they've never really done it for me. Obviously, argueably the pinacle in terms of engineering, and so rare to be seen on the roads, but for me, wouldnt even make my 'top 5' dream cars......

For me, something more like this:
