My 4.5 Cerbera started to mis-fire over the bank holiday weekend. No big deal in itself. Took it into Offords who identified a problem with the throttle pot. It's apparently going to take ages for TVR to get some software required to complete the work to Offords - it seems that a number of other dealers are also waiting for same software.

The upshot is that it's looking like I'm gonna have 2 very upset young boys (3 including myself) who were so looking forward to the trip 'Back Home' to Blackpool next weekend in the Cerbera. They've been on about it for ages ....

What's the big deal in not having more software copies available so that our cars aren't sitting in garages waiting for TVR to get their act together?

Might be worth trying a main dealer. Support for independents is always going to be lower on the priority list than for the main dealers.

At least one local main dealer is having to wait until June for the same reason.

How come they don't have the software already!? If they don't, how can they have serviced any of the AJP cars before!? I would be very doubtful if they can tune it properly if they've never done it before. In fact, how do they KNOW it's the throttle pot without having the software? Probably a good guess though - I must have had about 5 in 14k miles - what a crappy part.
