Anyone knows where cilinder 1 is on the distributor cap (see picture)?

Is a crossflow 711M 1600 Gt engine

If I am right firing order is 1-2-4-3 and rotor turns anti clockwise.

Thanks

Errr... I think it'll be where ever you want it (i.e. it doesn't matter)- it's the order and direction of rotation that count and you seem to know those.

just had a quick look and found this

http://www.locust.org.uk/knowlegebase/elec_ign/ele...

on the Locost builders site, dealing with installing a distributor on a cross flow. I think the firing order is 1243

Bring cyl 1 to tdc w/ both valves closed.

Remove cap.

Rotor should be pointing @ 1.

Hi

Generally, no1 plug lead should be about the 1 o'clock position as you look down at the distributor. That is probably the top right one in your picture, assuming the distributor has been fitted correctly and the timing is set correctly.
