Power Steering Oil Cooler

Not wanting to Hi-Jack the post cocerning power steering pumps, but at a weekend motor show I saw Chim' with a cooler installation in series with the power steering pump. I'm not sure if it was in the supply or return pipe to the reservoir. The owner was covinced it was going to preserve the life of this steering rack/pump having gone through the re-build process. Have any others fitted this mod' the theory being that cooler oil is better than engine heated oil? Cheers John042.

Would think thats a bit OTT. - a inline filter on the return would be a good precaution IMHO, apart from that its a good idea to change the fluid. When mine gave up the fluid must have been 10 years old. - Andy
