I'm absolutely over the moon! My Griffith passed it's MOT yesterday! Not that big a deal for most I guess, but it is for me.
For a bit of context, I've had my Griffith for now for 13 years and had a great time driving it as my only car for the first 5 years or so. However, the car went into storage for 8 years when my career path changed. It was never meant to be in storage for that length of time as, in my mind, it was only going to be off the road for a year or two at the most and the idea of selling it was never really entertained. Well, events took over as they tend to do, and the car remained tucked away.
Now I'm finally in a position to get it back on the road again. It was booked in for an MOT yesterday and Passed for the first time in 8 years with flying colours!!
I simply hadn't expected it to. After that length of time idle and without being serviced I thought it would easily fail on the emissions, let alone anything else. Now it's road legal it just needs a good full service. I've already anticipated having all the fluids replaced along with the rubber fuel lines and any other perishable parts that could cause problems.
I'm well aware that a sudden return to regular use might reveal other hidden issues that the MOT didn't pick up on, but for now I'm just so pleased. Good old TVR!

I definitely see if I can get down for the Saturday. As part of the process of getting it back up and running I've had to re-veneered the dash (DIY) as well. I hope to get a 'how-to' guide on here soon for anyone else wanting to have a go.
