Just noticed the rear off side tyre on my S-Type (2001) has premature wear just on the outer edge, the other tyres are fine, I have aftermarket alloy wheels on the car....

Could the tracking be out? Is this possible on the rear wheels?

Where can I get a Wanli 245/40 x 18 Z-Rated tyre... I'm a bit anal about having all four tyres the same on my car smile

There may be some defect somewhere at the rear so you should visit a garage to find out, or you may ruin the new Wanli you intend to fit. More modern cars appear to have adjustable front and rear suspension so after rulling out any defect on the car, you need (proper) four wheel alignment done. That's not the kind of thing your local Kwick fit type tyre centre offers. I'm not very familiar with the S type set up but consider worn bushes and too much +ve camber at your problem wheel.

Spoke to John at Mistermatic Swansea, and he says that very often the rear wheels are misaligned, despite being done by fast fit tyre operators, he is looking tomorrow (Mon) will let you know how I get on... Jay

.... the problem could be in the tyre itself! I wouldn't fit Wanli tyres to a rideon mower, ..... they are the most horrendous tyre ever produced, creating all sorts of problems.

I agree

You've a fast motor, DON'T skimp on your only patches of rubber on the road

(Unless you have a death wish, but you could take someone else out as well)
