MR2 MKIII & E46 Convertible

Guys needs some help if possible. I know these are 2 very different cars, but after looking around the classfieds, and a few posts on here, i have settled on one of these as my next purchase..

I was wondering if any previous owners could give their feedback on them.

I drive about 9k per year...mostly town driving...but want something I can enjoy driving. Budget is max 5K.

MR2 MKIII
Pros: Purpose built 2 seater
Cheap to run, insurance
younger model for 5K
toyota reliabilty
Cons: Only 2 seats
lack of storage
horrible looking alloys


BMW E46 Convertible
Pros:
German Engineering
4 seaters
6 pot engine
Cons: high general running costs, insurance
can only afford early versions with high miles


I have looked at the other options like the MX5, Z3, CLK, TT, and these are the best options.

If any can give me feedback on ethier models would be appreciated.
